The Edgar County Community Foundation continues to expand its horizons for the people of the county, As the Foundation develops its communication, collaboration, and knowledge base with the National Council of Foundations, The Alliance of Illinois Foundations, The Lumpkin Foundation, and the Donors Forum of Chicago, opportunity and benefits for Edgar County citizens continue to grow.
The Community Clothing Closet, a charitable service to distribute gently-used clothing to residents of Edgar County, is conducted by congregations from the church community in Paris. The Edgar County Community Foundation recently supported the services of CCC with a grant from the Foundation. The Paris Hat project received support from the Edgar County Community Foundation to help prepare knitted winter hats for school-age children in Edgar County. This Hat Project group weaves and knits winter headwear and distributes them to children in the various county schools each fall. Restoration of the U.S. Air Force jet on the grounds of the Paris American Legion post 211 is supported by the Edgar County Community Foundation for the repainting of the aircraft.
